It is our great pleasure to invite you to participate in the 7th Portuguese 
Conference on Automatic Control – CONTROLO’2006, to be held in Lisbon, from 11 
to 13 September 2006. This event is organized by Instituto Superior Técnico, 
and APCA -- the Portuguese Association of Automatic Control which is a national 
member organization of the International Federation of Automatic Control

Paper Submission
Authors are invited to electronically submit the full paper version of their 
work (6 pages, 2-column, IFAC style) in PDF format, following the instructions 
available on the web page. All papers will be reviewed by three different 
reviewers. Accepted papers will be allocated 6 pages in the Proceedings of 
Controlo’2006. Controlo’2006 also encourages the submission of special sessions 
with sets of 4 to 5 papers on well-defined subjects of current interest under 
the Conference scope. In addition to the full draft papers of the session, a 
proposal for a special session should also contain a 1-2 page summary, 
containing the aims and scope of the session. Normal and special session papers 
will be further screened for possible publication in a special issue of the 
International Journal of Systems Science. More details about paper submission,

Location
The conference will be held at the Congress Center of Instituto Superior 
Técnico (IST), the School of Engineering of the Technical University of Lisbon. 
IST is located near the city center, a few kilometers from the Lisbon airport 
(Aeroporto da Portela), and at five minutes walking from two metro stations, 
Alameda and Saldanha. 

Accommodation
Due to the location of IST, a wide range of hotels from luxurious to economy 
classes will be available for online booking at reasonable prices for 
participants in CONTROLO’2006.
