This is the *announcement* of the /Wearable Robots/ Workshop at ICRA
2008 in Pasadena. This full day workshop is structured around the most
important scientific aspects of this robotics field.
The attendee will be introduced with the main particularities of the
field. The wide vision of the workshop is of interest to students and
researchers having some background in robotics and interest or some
experience in rehabilitation robots and assistive technology. It is also
aimed at constituting basic educational material (that will be
distributed to the audience during the workshop) to introduce medical
personnel or other specialists to the capabilities of such robotic
systems. Rather than being a collection of topics, the workshop is
carefully structured in a way that the consecutive sessions allow the
attendee to perceive the context, requirements and get a view of current
solutions and future trends in such an exciting field.
The workshop will consist of several invited talks and paper
presentations. Interested authors are welcome to submit their
contributions. Topics of interests include (but are not limited to):
- Bioinspiration and Biomimetism in Wearable Robots
- Kinematics, dynamics and ergonomics of Wearable Robots
- Cognitive Human-Robot Interaction in Wearable Robots
- Physical Human-Robot Interaction in Wearable Robots
- Sensors, actuators and control in Wearable Robots
- PANs in Wearable Robots
The announcement for the workshop is available at
If you are planning on attending ICRA, please consider coming to the
workshop to share your thoughts and experience.
