Dear Colleagues,

For the 7th edition of its well-known summer school, the Intelligent
Robotics Lab of Jaume-I University, in collaboration with the Carlos III
University and the Royal Institute of Technology, organizes a Summer School
on the foundations new trends and applications, in the ASSISTIVE ROBOTS
context.

The attention of the robotics community has been drawn more and more on
service and assistive robots in the last years. This interest is not only
motivated by the challenge of designing new robots beyond available
technology, but also for the implications of their use in human
environments. They must able to perform a wide range of different tasks in
partially or completely unknown environments. And, what is most interesting,
they must able to cooperate and probably communicate with humans in a
variety of modes. The development of such amount of different capabilities
represents and ambitious and attractive research field for many scientists.

One of the main goals of this summer school is to be a multidisciplinary
meeting event for gathering students and researchers with different and
complementary backgrounds in order to explore and analyze the main concepts,
problems and potential applications of assistive robots.

Graduate robotics students will have a unique training opportunity in this
emergent and fast-evolving domain, closely interacting for one week with
some of the top-level researchers in the world in this field, as well as
with fellow students.

The school will take place in a closely hotel on the Mediterranean coast.

Attendance is limited to 40 students.
