                 International Conference on Cognitive Systems,

                  University of Karlsruhe, Karlsruhe, Germany

                                  April 2-4, 2008

The 2008 International Conference on Cognitive Systems will be held on
April 2-4, 2008 in Karlsruhe, Germany. The conference series started in
Bled, Slovenia in the year 2004 and travelled to Nijmegen, Netherlands
in the year 2006. Both events were organized to share the progress that
had been made in the research community around the sponsored European
projects within the area of Cognitive Systems.

CogSys 2008 will be held in Karlsruhe as the first international
conference on cognitive systems. The conference will bring together
researchers from different fields to identify current research trends,
to present and to review recent work and to speculate about the future
of cognitive systems.

Papers as well as suggestions for tutorials and workshops from academic
and industrial communities and government agencies are solicited in all
areas of cognitive systems. Topics of interest include, but are not
limited to:

  * Multi-disciplinary approaches towards cognition
  * Computational models of human cognition
  * Developmental approaches and cognition
  * Biologically inspired cognitive systems
  * Perceptual and motor learning
  * Language and communication
  * Cognitive processes in vision
  * Human-like learning systems
  * Robotics platforms for cognition research
  * The role of humanoid robots in realizing human-like cognition
  * Software and hardware architectures for cognitive systems.

Important Dates:
  * December 16, 2007  - Submission of full-length papers
  * December 16, 2007  - Proposals for Tutorials/Workshops
  * February 15 , 2008 - Notification of Paper Acceptance
  * February 29, 2008  - Submission of final camera-ready papers
  * March 1, 2008      - Deadline for advance registration

Deadline is firm and will NOT be extended!
