ECSIS Symposium on Learning and Adaptive Behavior in Robotic Systems
                                            LAB-RS 2008
                       Edinburgh, Scotland Aug 6-8, 2008.
The Proceedings will be published by the IEEE Computer Society Press.
Symposium is being held in conjunction with the ECSIS Symposium on
Learning and Intelligent Systems for Security (BLISS-2008) to be held
in Edinburgh
on Aug 4-6, 2008.

A short description of LAB-RS 2008:

Scope: Learning and adaptive behaviors are key to robotics system
operation in real world environments. While there have been important
developments at the theoretical level and in simulations or laboratory
environments, the transfer of these methods onto real-world platforms
has been limited.

This symposium will bring together researchers from academia and
industry to report on new concepts, laboratory demonstrations, and
fielded robotic systems that exhibit learning and adaptive behaviors.
The goal of the symposium is to roadmap future directions for
of robotic systems with capabilities comparable to those of
biological systems.

Best Paper Award: $1000 US
Best Video Award: $1000 US
