Call for Participation

5th ACM/IEEE International Conference on HUMAN-ROBOT INTERACTION

March 2 -5, 2010, Osaka, Japan

For the first time, the Human Robot Interaction Conference will be held in Japan and will host a very innovative event: the “robot drama.”

Participation and Venue:
The conference will be held in Osaka, the second largest city in Japan. For registration and information, see http://hri2010.org/attending/
Deadline for early registration: 31st of January 2009

The program features a carefully designed single-track session coupled with high-quality poster sessions, a panel showcasing up-and-coming robots and two world-class keynotes speakers:
Kazuhiro Kosuge (Tohoku University)
Josep Call (Max Planck Institute)

In the Robot Drama, visitors will have the opportunity to discover the communication capacities of a new range of human-like robots and to learn about the algorithms thanks to which these robots can express “feelings”. The robot drama aims at overcoming the resilient feeling of strangeness that most people still hold toward robots and to show-case how people may engage in natural relationships with robots.
