Reminder: March 26th is the submission deadline for the ICRA 2010 Workshop on
Networked and Mobile Robot Olfaction in Natural, Dynamic Environments.
Details about the workshop can be found at
and are also summarized below:
*Call for Papers*
ICRA 2010 Workshop on Networked and Mobile Robot Olfaction in Natural,
May 3-7 Anchorage, Alaska USA
Artificial olfaction in connection with sensor networks and mobile
robots has a great potential for a number of important real-world
applications, including pollution monitoring, leak detection, inspection
of landfills, search and rescue etc. We solicit paper submissions that
cover the full range of relevant research on olfaction in natural,
dynamic environments, including works on the theoretical foundations,
sensor technology, machine learning or biologically inspired approaches,
sensor fusion and progress reports on actual real-world systems. This
half day workshop aims to provide a forum where peer-reviewed papers are
to be presented. According to its topic, the workshop will put a strong
focus on experimental validation using actual gas sensors. A particular
motivation of the proposed workshop is to bring together researchers
from different communities, especially from sensor networks and mobile
robotics, who face the same challenges in developing artificial
olfaction solutions for real world applications.
*List of Topics*
(include but not limited to)
Odor Discrimination in Natural Environments
Calibration of Gas Sensors for Use in Dynamic Environments
Gas Source Localization
Gas Distribution Mapping
Gas Sensor Networks
Odor Based Navigation
Mobile Robot Olfaction
Multi-Robot (Swarm) Olfaction
Submission Deadline: March 26, 2010.
Notification: April 5, 2010.
Camera Ready Papers: April 19, 2010.
Workshop days: May, 3 or 7, 2010.
We solicit submissions of research papers reporting significant research
results. Papers should be maximum 8 pages, following ICRA-2010 paper
format instructions. Submissions must be sent by e-mail to
<achim.lilienthal (a) oru.se> and <amy.loutfi (a) oru.se> as CC. Only
PDF files will be accepted. Other, non-standard formats (e.g., Word)
cannot be accepted. More information about the submission procedure to
appear on the workshop webpage www.aass.oru.se/~ali/icra10ws.
