Workshop Description
----
Contact modeling, including friction and impacts, is one of the most
critical issues in robotics because it is a key phenomenon in many
robotic tasks such as manipulation, locomotion, and haptics. In order to
design good robot simulators and controllers, it is essential to have
correct understanding of the phenomenon and its numerical models, as
well as proper use of proximity or collision detection algorithms.

This workshop consists of invited talks by prominent researchers working
with various techniques to model contacts with friction and impact in
many different application contexts.
