Please forgive the multiple postings.

The IEEE Haptics Symposium is sponsored by the Robotics and Automation
Society, and addresses topics including human-robot interactions
involving touch, the design of touch sensors and actuators, haptic
device design and dynamics, and control system design and analysis,
among others.

20th IEEE Haptics Symposium

Conference Registration Now Open

The registration website for the 2012 Haptics Symposium, to be held
March 4-7 2012 in Vancouver, Canada, will be live on Wednesday
December 14th. The early registration deadline is January 20th. A
link to the registration page will be available via the registration
link given on the conference web page

The 2012 IEEE Haptics Symposium celebrates 20 years of multidisciplinary
research relating to the human sense of touch. Held since 1992, this
conference has become a vibrant forum where psychophysicists, engineers,
and designers come together to share advances, spark new collaborations,
and envision a future that benefits from rich physical interactions
between humans and computers, generated through haptic (force and tactile)
devices. In 2012, we are accommodating the growth in this community with
an extended four-day program in an independently-run meeting.

Demo Submission

Demo submissions are due on Dec. 19. Haptics Symposium is making
a significant effort to recruit outside media to the conference to
broaden public awareness of haptics research. Submit your best demos
- touching is believing!

For more information,
see http://2012.hapticssymposium.org/demo-submissions.

Student Volunteers Roommate Finder

There is now a roommate finder function on the conference website
at http://2012.hapticssymposium.org/find-roommate-haptics-2012

We also continue to accept submissions for student volunteers. The
Student Volunteer program is a great opportunity for young researchers
to familiarize themselves with haptics research. It also allows
enthusiastic students to establish and expand their network with the most
relevant academicians, professionals and other students in the field.

The application deadline is Saturday, January 7, 2012. Please complete
the online Student Volunteer Application Form to be considered as a
student volunteer.
