ICRA GRASSROOTS Travel Fellowships for US Students
(Priority given to Presenting Student Authors who are US
Citizens/Permanent Residents)

Application Deadline: Feb 21, 2011

Students who are enrolled in a US institution and who are planning to
present their work at ICRA 2011, are invited to apply for a travel
grant support by the NSF. The purpose of this fellowship is to promote
long-term international research collaborations and partnerships
between US and host country students. Travel fellowship recipients
will be required to spend one day prior or after the conference
visiting a participating host lab. Upon return, the fellowship
recipients are required to submit a 2-page report on their experience.

Since funds are limited, students must submit an application following
the submission guidelines. This fellowship will cover partial airfare
reimbursement for coach/economy class on US flag carriers only and
local transportation, meals, and lodging costs related to the lab
visits. The deadline for submitting an application is 02/21/2011, and
awards will be announced by 03/15/2011. Travel funds will be
distributed as reimbursements upon submission of receipts and the
2-page report.

Application Procedure
The application for travel funds consists of an email from the advisor
of the applicant, sent to icra.travel.award at gmail.com with "ICRA

contain the following information, prepared by the student, but sent
by the student’s advisor:

1. The name of the applicant, the applicant's email address and

U.S. citizen or permanent resident at the time of the submission of

ICRA 2011, and a one-sentence description of the technical area of
interest of the paper.

3. A brief description (e.g., one paragraph) of the expected impact of
participation in ICRA 2011 on the applicant's professional

4.If applicable, the funding agency, grant title, and grant number
under which the research was performed.

5. The sources of travel funding available for the applicant that make

air ticket. Note that this travel grant will not cover all expenses,
so other funding sources must be available.
