Call for Papers


URAI 2011 (The 8th International Conference on Ubiquitous Robots and Ambient
Intelligence; URAI is pronounced “you-rì”), hosted by Korea Robotics Society
(KROS, www.kros.org) will be held on November 23-26, 2011 at Songdo
ConventiA (www.songdoconvensia.com), Incheon, Korea (near Incheon
International Airport). URAI 2011 is technically co-sponsored by IEEE
Robotics and Automation Society, the Robotics Society of Japan (RSJ), the
Robotics Society of Taiwan (RST), and IEEE Seoul Section. The aim of this
conference is to bring together academics, researchers, engineers, and
students worldwide to discuss the state-of-the-art technology and to present
recent works related to the various aspects of all kinds of robots. Year
2011 is the VisitKorea Year by the Korean Government, and various
cultural/social events and many benefits are prepared in Korea. We are
pleased to invite you to submit papers, propose organized sessions, attend
URAI 2011, and also enjoy Korea.


The topics of URAI 2011 include, but are not limited to, 

Ubiquitous robots, Ambient intelligence, Network-based robotics, Human-robot
interaction, Robot vision and audition, Sensor networks and sensor fusion,
Robotic agents, Robot intelligence and learning, Intelligent
space/environment technologies, Distributed robotics, Navigation and
localization, Robot kinematics and dynamics, Robot control, Robotic
mechanism and design, Control architecture and middleware, Haptics and
teleoperation, Sensors and actuators, Medical/Rehabilitation robotics,
Humanoid robots, Field robots, Service robots, Industrial robots,
Biorobotics, Biomimetics, etc.


Important Dates: 

Jun. 26, 2011 : Submission of organized session proposals

Jun. 30, 2011 : Submission of papers

July 31, 2011 : Proposals for tutorials/workshops

Aug. 31, 2011: Notification of acceptance 

Sep. 30, 2011: Submission of final camera-ready papers


Paper Submissions

Authors are invited to submit the following types of papers or videos
written in English to  <http://www.kros.org/urai2011>
http://www.kros.org/urai2011 where templates are prepared. 

- Regular papers (3 to 6 pages)

- Work-in-progress papers (2 pages)

- Video papers (video file and 1 page extended abstract)


Accepted papers will be published in the URAI 2011 Proceedings that will be
included in the IEEE Xplore (tentatively) and EI Compendex. 


Organized Session Proposal

The goal of organized sessions is to provide focused discussions on a new
topic or innovative applications of a new approach. Proposals for organized
sessions should be submitted by June 26, 2011 through email kros at kros.org.
Each organized session consists of five or six papers (but four papers in
particular cases are accepted). The proposal should be submitted by the
session organizer, and include a session title, along with the authors'
names and titles of individual papers submitted. The session organizer will
receive the official invitation letter of the invited speaker by URAI 2011,
and an incentive.
