In responding to a number of requests, we decided to keep the submission
page open until 23:59 (JST) on March 31, 2011.
Please note that this is a very hard deadline and not further bargainable.

The aim of the conference is to provide a forum on robotics research for field
and service applications. Research papers describing the work with 
both theoretical
and practical significance are encouraged to submit. Also encouraged are systems
integration papers reporting the performance evaluation in practical 
implementation
and field testing.

IMPORTANT DATES

23:59 JST, March 31, 2011: Submission page will close automatically
May 18, 2011: Notification of Acceptance
June 15, 2011: Submission of Camera Ready Manuscripts
July 20-22, 2011: Conference

DEADLINE EXTENSION?

As the deadline of IROS 2011, one of major conference for robotics community,
is approaching on March 14, you may wish to have more time for FSR papers.
Yes, we will consider it!
We will keep the submission page open until 23:59 (JST) on March 31, 2011.
Please manage your time to meet this new, but solid DAEDLINE.

CONFERENCE LOCATION and RELATED EVENTS

Matsushima has been well known for 400 years as one of the three most 
scenic spots
in Japan.  It is only 30 minutes by local train from Sendai, where IROS 2004 was
held. A sunset dinner cruise is planned during the conference.
Also in conjunction with three-day single-track technical sessions of FSR from
July 20 to 22, one-day spacial forum on Extreme Robotics is planned at Tohoku
Univeristy on July 19 and technical visit to Tohoku University (laboratory tour)
is planned on July 23.
