We are proposing a symposium on open source robotics in the 50 years
of robotics series at IROS 2011. The symposium will cover historical
development, current efforts, and applications of open source software
and hardware in the field of robotics. This is a wide-reaching
umbrella, and will help to show how both knowledge sharing and the
tangible systems that result from this knowledge are vital to the
field of robotics.

This symposium will consist of three invited papers that showcase
various open source hardware and software platforms. If you are
interested in contributing to this symposium please select "invited
paper" in PaperPlaza and enter the session key 4u4qD.

We look forward to seeing you at IROS 2011.
