Noordwijkerhout, The Netherlands

Paper Submission: May 17, 2011

Dear Colleague,

We would like to draw your attention to the Special Session on Intelligent
Control and Mechatronics (ICM 2011).

ICM has an open call for papers with deadline set for next May 17, and we
invite you to participate by submitting a paper reflecting your current

This special sessions is part of the 8th International Conference on
Informatics in Control, Automation and Robotics (ICINCO 2011 -
http://www.icinco.org/), which is sponsored by INSTICC, organized in
cooperation with the Association for the Advancement of Artificial
Intelligence (AAAI), Euromicro and the ACM Special Interest Group on
Artificial Intelligence (ACM SIGART) and technically co-sponsored by IEEE
Robotics & Automation Society (IEEE RAS). INSTICC is member of the Workflow
Management Coalition (WfMC).

ICINCO will be held next summer in Noordwijkerhout, The Netherlands, on July
28 - 31.

Submitted papers will be subject to a double-blind review process. All
accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings, under an
ISBN reference, on paper and on CD-ROM support.

The proceedings will be submitted for indexation by Thomson Reuters
Conference Proceedings Citation Index, INSPEC, DBLP and EI. All papers
presented at the conference venue will be available at the SciTePress
Digital Library (http://www.scitepress.org/DigitalLibrary/).

Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions you may have.

Kind regards,

Marina Carvalho

Mechatronic systems engineering refers usually to the synergistic
integration of mechanical, electrical and electronics components. Many
topics usually found in control theory and practice may arise as research
topics in the area of Intelligent Control and Mechatronics, including:

- computational intelligence approaches, including neuro-fuzzy control of
nonlinear electromechanical systems;

- industrial applications of control engineering, in general, and robotic
systems in particular;

- Position, kinematical and dynamic force analysis of robot manipulators;

- Stability, robustness and other issues in dynamic systems;

- adaptive control, self-tuning regulators, direct and indirect control;

- intelligent control of vehicle systems.

The ICM special session invites quality papers describing original work
including research ideas, case-studies and new findings on methodological
and technological aspects related to intelligent control and mechatronics,
in particular papers describing methods, techniques, recent advances,
applications and tools.
