Paladyn. Journal of Behavioral Robotics invites manuscripts for the Special Issue on Cybernetic Approaches to Robotics. This topical issue is dedicated to the cybernetic and intelligent approaches to robotics and related applications and is aimed at presenting an overview of the present trends in this field.
The special issue will solicit research articles from all accepted papers of the 11th international conference organized by the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland Chapter of the IEEE Systems, Man and Cybernetics Society with the theme of Cybernetic Intelligent Systems to be held at Limerick, 23-24 of August, 2012. The technical committee will select papers which fall within the scope of the issue. The special issue also invites manuscripts from other interested researchers as well. The scope of the topical issue includes but is not limited to:
- cognitive robotics
- developmental robotics
- affective robotics
- evolutionary robotics
- computational intelligence
- visual cognition, computer vision
- decision-making in autonomous robots
- neurally inspired robotics
- neural networks, neural computation
- human-robot interaction, symbiotic robots
- machine learning, adaptation and imitation
- emergent behaviors of mobile robots
- multi-robot systems, swarm robotics, robot self-organization

All papers will go through the Paladyn's high standards, quick, fair and comprehensive peer-review procedure. The Coordinating Editor with the help of the Guest Editors will be responsible for the final paper selection.
