1-Year Memorial Symposium of Eastern Japan Earthquake
-- Robot-Assisted Response and Recovery --

Center of Robotics for Extreme and Uncertain Environments,
Graduate School of Information Sciences, 
Graduate School of Engineering, Tohoku University, 
International Rescue System Institute

  Various robots and robot technologies have been applied to the response and recovery to/from Great Eastern Japan Earthquake since March 11, 2011, and some showed successful results.  Robotics will be widely used in large-scale disasters in the future as an essential technology for safety and security in the world.

  This symposium will introduce various applications of robotics during this one year, and will make discussion for the future.
