I am writing you to invite you and your co-workers to scientifically contribute and to possibly attend the 4th IEEE RAS/EMBS International Conference on Biomedical Robotics and Biomechatronics (BioRob2012) that will be held in Rome from Sunday June 24 to Thursday June 28, 2012.
The conference theme of this edition is “The impact of Biomedical Robotics and Biomechatronics Technology on the XXI century Healthcare and Welfare”.
BIOROB2012 will provide a unique opportunity to present your most recent research results to a critical mass of researchers working in biorobotics and biomechatronics, in medicine and biology, to experts from industry, stakeholders and end-users.
The Conference will include invited talks, special sessions, posters and paper presentations, workshops, tutorials, symposia and a number of special events.
Please note that the final deadline for full papers and workshops/tutorials submission is January 31, 2012.
As a leading researcher in the field, I am sure your participation will be highly beneficial to enhance the quality and visibility of this event towards the estblishment of the community of bioroboticts worldwide.
To foster the consolidation of our community, BIOROB2012 promotes a very special series of events that will take place during the whole week of the conference:
-) BIOROB2012 is part of the Italian Bioengineering Week, an exciting week totally dedicated to bioengineering research, featuring a unique concentration of several scientific, cultural and educational events - mostly taking place in Rome) – including the Italian National Congress of Bioengineering, the International Symposium on Computer-Based Medical Systems, PhD Schools, society meetings, and many more. For more infos visit www.bioengweek2012.org<https://mailbox.unicampus.it/owa/UrlBlockedError.aspx<https://owamail.mcw.edu/owa/UrlBlockedError.aspx>>.
-) at BIOROB2012, the new Springer Series on Bioystems and Biorobotics will be officially presented, and proposals for volumes to be published to support the development of these disciplines at educational and research level will be discussed in dedicated meetings
-) a rich programme of plenary lectures, 2 per conference days, from engineering and clinical experts – including Ronald Arkin, Maria Chiara Carrozza, Neville Hogan, Nitish Thakor and other leading researchers
-) dedicated events to presents to a wide audience and media the most recent advancements of biorobotics and biomechatronics research coming from leading projects worldwide
-) the first edition of the Surgical Robotics Symposium (on June 24-25), a new international meeting that specifically focuses on assisted surgery
-) the launch of the new Biorobotics and Biomechatronics Portal, which will gather all the worldwide community for sharing and exchanging common resources (e.g. educational material, research databases, etc.). During BIOROB2012 the Board of Promoters of this initiative will be identified and opportunities for involvement will be presented in detail.
…and many more events and opportunities for students, stakeholders, companies to be announced soon. Stay tuned on www.biorob2012.org!<https://owamail.mcw.edu/owa/UrlBlockedError.aspx>
Selected papers from the conference programme, including special sessions and workshops, will be invited for publication on dedicated special issues currently being planned for various international journals, such as IEEE PULSE, IEEE T-NSRE, IEEE T-BME, IEEE RAM, IEEE T-RO, RSJ Advanced Robotics and others. The selected papers will undergo a subsequent review process according to the procedures of each journal.
Other scientific contributions from the conference will be considered for publication in the new Springer Series on Biosystems and Biorobotics .
Exhibition stands can also be reserved, with special conditions for spin-off companies and academic research laboratories.
You can find the CFP and some more information on the conference at www.biorob2012.org<https://mailbox.unicampus.it/owa/UrlBlockedError.aspx<https://owamail.mcw.edu/owa/UrlBlockedError.aspx>>.
