Call for Papers for IFAC Workshop on Navigation, Guidance
and Control of Underwater Vehicles (NGCUV 2012)
                                    Porto, Portugal
                                  April 10-12, 2012

The IFAC Workshop NGCUV 2012 will bring together key researchers,
scientists and engineers to present the latest research results, ideas,
developments, and applications in Oceanic Engineering and
Autonomous Marine Robotics.
The program will include invited sessions, video submissions, as well
as oral and poster presentations of refereed papers.

Conference Location
April 10-12, 2012, Porto, Portugal

Scope of the Workshop
NGCUV 2012 workshop has two main aims.

Firstly, to bring together key industrial and academic practitioners for
discussions and demonstrations of recent advances in navigation,
guidance, and control of unmanned underwater vehicles (UUV).

Secondly, to provide a forum where experienced researchers can engage
with each other and with postdoctoral students in order to share
experiences and motivate new research agendas. In line with the current
trend worldwide, special attention will be given to the challenging
tasks of multiple vehicle cooperative navigation and control in the
presence of stringent acoustic communication constraints, as well as
non-conventional geophysical based navigation methods.

Papers are solicited on all areas directly related to the theme of this
workshop, including but not limited to, UUV control applications, system
identification, UUV navigation and control architectures, fault
detection and accommodation, UUV vision systems, intervention UUVs,
single and multi-vehicle applications, modeling and simulation,
communications, challenging applications of UUVs, habitat mapping, deep
ocean science, commercial use of UUVs for oil and gas
exploration/operations, underwater construction, security, environment
monitoring and protection, new sensors and integration into UUV, fault
detection and handling, inter-operability, operational safety,
cooperative control under severe communication constraints

NGCUV 2012 accepts regular papers, invited papers and video submissions.
