*******Scope*******

Theworkshopisintendedforaninter-disciplinaryaudienceandattemptstoprovideanequalexposurebetweensocial 
robotics,socialcognitiveneuroscienceanddevelopmentalpsychology.ItisknownfromtheworksofPiagetthatinfantsareparticularlysensitivetotemporalevents(contingencydetection,timing,rhythmandsynchrony)thatoccurduringphysicalinteractionsandalsoduringsocial 
interactions.Meanwhile,incognitiveneuroscience,neuralmechanismsrelyingonsynchronyandon 
contingencydetectors(temporal integration) arebroad 
inthebrain.Webelievethatthesefeaturesareparticularlyimportantforroboticiststoconstructinteractiverobotsthatsynchronizewithhuman-partners 
or caregivers,andtobegintocommunicatenon-verballywithcaregivers.
