The Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna of Pisa (Italy) issued a call for application to a Ph.D. program in BIOROBOTICS – for research projects in MICRO-BIOROBOTICS, which is in the framework of the existing Innovative Technologies of Information & Communication Engineering and Robotics International School of Doctorate.
DEADLINE for application is June 30, 2012

The fellowships will be funded by the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (www.iit.it<http://www.iit.it>) to foster research in MICRO-BIOROBOTICS specifically to be carried out at the Center in Micro-Biorobotics at SSSA (http://mbr.iit.it) pursuing the following scientific goals within two main platforms:
1) The MICROROBOTICS PLATFORM: soft robotics, bioinspired robots, bio-hybrid robots, biomedical robots;
2) The SMART MATERIALS PLATFORM: smart polymers, polymeric nanofilms, nanomaterials and smart biointerfaces.

Fellows will conduct research in a leading international institution and within a highly interdisciplinary environment. Interested candidates must prepare a research project relative to the MICRO-BIOROBOTICS field which will be evaluated for scientific and technical soundness and will be part of the whole evaluation process.
