Robotics, imaging and simulation are technologies that have a major impact
on the delivery and teaching of health care worldwide. This special
one-week summer school will provide an intensive introduction to surgical
robotics, image-guided systems and simulation technologies and their
clinical context.

The school is designed for graduate students (primarily doctoral) and
early-career researchers. A distinguished faculty of international experts
will present focused lectures on a range of topics, including: surgical
robotics, haptics and teleoperation, medical imaging, computer-assisted
surgical planning, major therapy delivery techniques, surgical simulation,
training, and performance assessment. Hands on activities will be provided
at CSTAR in the surgical, engineering and simulation laboratories.

Posters: All participants, especially doctoral students, are required to
present posters describing their research projects or interests. The
participants will give a one minute teaser slide to introduce their poster. The
poster and social events will provide networking opportunities with
faculty, researchers from academia and industry and fellow students.

Costs: A registration fee of $600 per student/postdoc will be charged which
will cover tuition and meals. For out-of-town attendees, accommodation in
University residences will be provided at no cost. All attendees are
responsible for arranging their own transportation to and from London,

Application: Graduate students (primarily doctoral) and postdoctoral
fellows should submit their applications by July 6, 2012. The application
process is designed to select the students who are most likely to benefit
from attending the school while ensuring that the backgrounds and expertise
