The Harvard Biodesign Lab at the Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired
Engineering and the School of Engineering and Applied Science at Harvard
University invites applications for immediate openings in the areas of
wearable robotics and surgical robotics. It is expected that mechanical
design, material science, micro-fabrication, soft robotics, sensor design,
kinematic analysis, biomechanics, device characterization and optimization
as well as experimental/analytical mechanics will be key features of the
research. Candidates with strong leadership experience, a broad range of
technical skills and a track record in translating conceptual ideas into
working prototypes will be strongly considered for the following positions.

*Postdoctoral Research Fellows
Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics,
Robotics, Materials Science, Biomechanics or a related field and a proven
track record of high quality publications. The candidates should have a
strong interest in contributing to multidisciplinary teams (engineers,
computer scientists, physiologists, bioengineers and clinicians) and will be
expected to publish scholarly papers and attend international conferences,
as well as take on a mentorship role for undergraduate and graduate

*Research Engineer
Applicants should have a PhD in Mechanical Engineering Mechatronics,
Robotics, Materials Science, Biomechanics or a related field and 3-5 years
post-PhD research experience where they have demonstrated strong independent
research expertise. The candidate should have a strong interest in
collaborating with postdoctoral fellows, clinicians and students in their
research, design, development and prototype evaluation efforts. It is also
expected that the candidate will work closely with faculty to pursue grant
funding to support new and existing research projects.

Applications for both positions, assembled as a single PDF file, should
contain a complete resume, cover letter describing research interests and
goals, full list of publications, copies of up to three relevant scientific
papers, as well as the names and contact information of three references
(expected to provide letters of recommendation). For additional information
about the Wyss Institute or the Harvard School of Engineering please visit
our web-pages at: http://wyss.harvard.edu/ and http://seas.harvard.edu/

Applications should be sent to Conor Walsh, walsh at seas.harvard.edu
