Call for Posters
RSS 2013 Workshop
Sensitive Robotics

http://users.wpi.edu/~etorresj/RSSSensitiveRobotics

The organizers invite you to submit a poster for review to the RSS
2013 Workshop: Sensitive Robotics. The workshop will take place on
the morning of Thursday, June 27th at the TU Berlin University,
Berlin, Germany.

Important Dates:

submission deadline - May 10th
notification of acceptance - May 17th
workshop - June 27th

Description:
New sensing technologies are allowing robots to be more aware of the
interaction between their body and their environment. Such is the
case for tactile sensors in arms and hands, MEMS air sensors in flying
robots, and MEMS flow sensors in swimming robots. This half-day
workshop will bring together people from different areas of robotics
that work with large arrays of sensors based on direct contact (i.e.
rather than light or other radiation), to discuss their different
approaches.

Key issues to be addressed include: modeling for large array of
sensors, dealing with sparse information, representing sensor in
reconfigurable structures like arms or wings.

Appropriate topics for the workshop include:

- Direct contact
- Tactile sensing
- Tactile based manipulation
- Tactile based walking robots
- Whiskers
- Tactile sensor modeling
- MEMS air and flow sensors
- Large array of sensors
- Sparse information

Submission:

All submissions should be in pdf or doc. Proposals for posters should
be 1 page in length and should include a description of the material
to be presented.

Submissions should be emailed to sensitiveroboticsworkshop at
gmail.com by May 10th. Notification of acceptance will be given by May
17th.
