Tactile displays are fundamental components of teleoperation, telerobotic, telepresence systems, haptic interfaces, robotic medical systems, human machine communication systems, or human-robot interaction systems. They also pose most challenging mechatronics design problems.
The newly approved program PROTOTOUCH (Virtual Prototyping of Tactile Displays) is a multidisciplinary and intersectoral network for training 11 PhD students, termed “Early Stage Researchers” (ESRs), and 4 Post-doctoral fellows, termed “Experienced Researchers” (ERs) with the aim of developing tactile displays that have high definition haptic feedback.
This program will take place under the auspices of the prestigious and highly selective training program FP7/People - Marie Curie Actions, see http://ec.europa.eu/research/mariecurieactions/
The program and application procedures is available in more detail below.
