The 4th Israeli Conference on Robotics

November 19-20, 2013
Herzeliya, Israel

*First Call for papers *

The Israeli Conference on Robotics (ICR) is a biennial meeting,
intended to provide a forum for Israeli and foreign researchers
and engineers from industry and academia to discuss and exchange
ideas on contemporary topics in robotics and automation. It is
also intended to encourage local and international collaborations,
and foster a viable robotics industry in Israel.

Specific goals of ICR2013 are to promote robotics as a field of
national priority, to promote innovation and support entrepreneurs
in the robotics field, to promote robotics education, and to encourage
the use of robotics and automation in the traditional industries, in
agriculture, and in assisting the elderly population. The conference
organization is lead by a steering committee that consists of senior
representatives from industry and academia.

ICR2013 will host ISRACAS’ 2013, the 15th Israeli Symposium on
Computer-Aided Surgery, Medical Robotics, and Medical Imaging.

The scientific program will include plenary talks on the current
state of robotics worldwide, a panel discussion on the development
of the robotics industry in Israel, an entrepreneurs forum, and
presentations of contributed and invited papers in several technical tracks.

The scope of the conference covers topics that range from theoretical
developments to industrial applications and emphasize current interests of
the local robotics community and perceived needs of the Israeli industry
and economy.

Topics include, but are not limited to:

Service robots
Medical robots
 Robotics Education
Robots in agriculture
Security and defense applications
Biologically inspired systems
Autonomous vehicles
 Multirobot systems
Automated manufacturing
Navigation and motion planning
Localization and mapping
Machine Vision
 Robot dynamics and control
Robot design

Potential contributors are requested to submit short abstracts of up
to 2000 characters on any of the topics covered by the ICR conference
before May 31, 2013. Authors of accepted abstracts will be requested
to submit a camera-ready single-page abstract before August 31, 2013.
The submission of a full-length paper is encouraged. The accepted
