The School of Biological and Health Systems Engineering, together with faculty from other schools of the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering, Arizona State University, is organizing a workshop on Rehabilitation Robotics that will be held in Tempe, AZ, on February 22nd and 23rd, 2013. The main goals of the workshop are to discuss the state of the art in rehabilitation robotics and to identify the main challenges in this field. Although the main theme of this workshop is rehabilitation robotics, a wide range of topics will be discussed including human-robot interaction, bio-inspired robotics, and human motor control. The workshop is supported by a grant from Piper Health Solutions and there are no registration fees.
We are excited to announce 15 confirmed speakers from top research institutions who work in the areas of neuroscience (motor control), physical rehabilitation, rehabilitation robotics, and robotics (software, hardware, etc.). Among these 15 speakers, there will be two plenary speakers: Dr. Neville Hogan (MIT) and Dr. Henrik Christensen (Georgia Institute of Technology).
With regard to attendance to the workshop: we are asking attendees to register online – this is important for reserving the appropriate conference room and audio-visuals, as we will not be able to let in attendees without registration.
For people interested in giving a poster presentation, please email the title and abstract to Dr. Veronica Santos (veronica.santos at asu.edu) by January 15th.
The agenda of the workshop and other information are posted online at http://engineering.asu.edu/RehabRobotics2013/
