Dear roboticists,

we are organizing a Special Session on "Developments and Progress of
Robotic Competitions", included in the ICINCO conference, held 29-31 July
2013 in Reykjavik, Iceland.

--> http://www.icinco.org/DePCom.aspx <--

Outdoor robotic contests with realistic scenarios are the SOTA tool for
benchmarking robotic systems. Compared to artificially designed indoor
competitions or laboratory tests these trials provide the possibility to
compare complete systems in user defined settings.

The session is aimed, especially, at professionally organized outdoor
ground robot contests and should present lessons learned from large events
like the DARPA Grand Challenges, the Australian MAGIC or the European ELROB
trials.

Topics of Interest
  - Scientific outcomes gained from robot competitions
  - Benchmarking and evaluation issues
  - Educational aspects of robot competitions
  - Important future developments for outdoor robot contests

Important Dates
  - Paper Submission: May 15, 2013
  - Authors Notification: June 3, 2013
  - Camera Ready and Registration: June 13, 2013

All accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings book
- under an ISBN reference and on CD-ROM - and submitted for indexation
by Thomson Reuters Conference Proceedings Citation Index (ISI), INSPEC,
DBLP and Elsevier Index. For further submission guidelines visit
http://www.icinco.org/GuidelinesTemplates.aspx.
