It is our pleasure to invite you to the workshop on Lower Limb Exoskeletons for Rehabilitation and Assistance that will take place in Hong Kong on June, 1st 2014 in the framework of ICRA 2014.
This full-day workshop will thoroughly address the following topics related to lower limb exoskeletons: interfacing modalities between humans and wearable robots, modelling of human sensorimotor control, and managing a safe, efficient and intuitive interaction with an exoskeleton. These topics will be treated with a focus on (but not limited to) applications in rehabilitation and as personal assistive device.
The vision of the workshop will be of interest to students and researchers with background in robotics, biomechanics, physiology, signal processing or pattern recognition who are interested to learn more about the critical field of rehabilitation robots and assistive technology and application scenarios for lower limb exoskeletal robotics. It is also aimed at constituting basic educational material (that will be distributed to the audience during the workshop) to introduce researcher and practitioners with a clinical background or other specialists to the capabilities of such robotic systems. Rather than being a collection of topics, the workshop is carefully structured in a way that the consecutive sessions allow the attendee to comprehensively grasp the context, requirements and get a view of current solutions and future trends in such an exciting field.
