The ICRA 2014 Workshop on "Hyper Bio Assembler for 3D Cellular Innovations"

is a full-day workshop held in conjunction with
the IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation, at the
Hong-Kong, June 5, 2014.

*** Objective ***
The main purpose of this workshop--related to micro robotics--is to discuss
a new and innovative methodology: Bio Assembler.
This methodology based on micro robotics is intended for creating 3D
cellular systems such as functional tissue in vitro environments,
in which active functional cells selected from a living organism are used to
create the 3D cellular system.
This new methodology will bring innovation to the next generation of tissue
engineering and will become the world's first creation of 3D cellular system
in vitro environments. 
This innovation will be achieved by developing a methodology of hyper
micro-nano measurement and control.
The outcome of this innovation will bring great technological advancements
to both engineering and life science field.
The research consists of three areas:
1. Hyper measurement and separation of useful active cells
2. Hyper assembling of 3D cellular system from selected active cells
3. Analysis and evaluation of 3D cellular systems.

*** Topics ***
In this workshop we will focus on and enhance the best use of micro robotics
to measure and to separate useful cells, to assemble various shape of 3D
tissues, to evaluate their functionalization, etc.
The workshop topics include, but not limited to:
-Measurement of cell and tissue characteristics
-Separation of cell and tissue
-Manipulation of cell and tissue
-Assembly of cellular system -Analysis and evaluation of cellular system
-Any other micro robotics applied in biological cell manipulation and

*** Submission ***
We invite you to submit an extended abstract of your contribution for oral
Extended abstracts may be around 2 pages and may include figures and
Extended abstracts should be submitted in pdf format by email to
icra2014ws(at)bio-asm.jp, which is the workshop office.
Original works as well as reviews of previous consolidated contributions are
both welcomed.
Contributions will be reviewed by workshop organizers and their colleagues.
