The  Department  of  Computer  Science  of  the 
Carl-Friedrich-Gauß-Faculty  offers  this
professorship with tenure, starting as soon as possible.

Applicants  should  be  internationally  renown  for  their  research 
and  teaching  in  the
interdisciplinary field of robotics with focus on computer science and 
computer engineering
in particular in experimental robotics. Preference will be given to 
individuals, whose research
areas cover, experimentally based, several of the following fields:
-  theoretical and technical foundations of robotics,
-  assistive robotics in production,
-  assistive robotics in medicine and health care,
-  cooperating robots,
-  human-robot-interaction,
-  humanoid robots,
-  intelligent robots,
-  new paradigms in robot programming,
-  robot sensors and sensor data interpretation,
-  (semi-) autonomous robot systems.
  
The  successful  candidate  will  be  Director  of  the  Institute for 
 Robotics  and  Process
Informatics, which is one of the institutes in the Department of 
Computer Science.
  
Excellent collaboration opportunities exist at TU Braunschweig, among 
others with institutes
in  computer  science,  computer  engineering,  electrical engineering 
 and  mechanical
engineering. It is expected that candidates are very interested in 
contributing to and initiating
interdisciplinary  research.  Teaching  responsibilities  of  the 
future  professor  include undergraduate and graduate students within 
computer science, computer and communications
systems engineering, and related programs.
  
The formal employment requirements can be found in § 25 of the NHG 
(Niedersächsisches
Hochschulgesetz/University Act of Lower Saxony). Applicants must hold 
a doctoral degree
and have excellent research competency from university or industry 
(habilitation or equivalent
qualification), and provide proof of their teaching experience and 
ability. He/She is expected
to  be  willing  to  cooperate  in  research  and  teaching,  in 
particular  in  the  scope  of  the  NTH
Niedersächsische Technische Hochschule - regional consortium of 
Institutes of Technology.
