The University of California, Los Angeles Mechanical and Aerospace
Engineering Department is accepting applications to fill a full-time tenure
track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level. Exceptional
candidates at the Associate or Full Professor level will also be
considered.

The position (Tracking #JPF00585) is in 'Distributed Transducers for
Mechanical Systems.' Areas of interest include but are not limited to:
distributed sensing and actuation that empower mechanical systems such as
robots and wearable devices; adaptive transducers capable of changing bulk
or surface properties; transduction network with local intelligence to
reduce the signal bandwidth requirements; and emerging manufacturing
technologies for such transducers.

Applicants must hold a doctoral degree in engineering or a closely related
discipline. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching
undergraduate and graduate courses and for developing a strong externally
sponsored research program. We are interested in outstanding candidates who
