Call for papers on "Augmented Reality for Robotics" reseach topic, 
Virtual Environments specialty of the Frontiers in Robotics and AI

== CONTENT ==
Augmented Reality and Robotics are converging in new applications and 
scenarios. AR can be employed for telepresence allowing an operator to 
interact with a remove environment through a robot, taking also 
advantage of the robot perceptual capabilities. At the same time AR is 
highly important when directly interacting with robotic systems, in 
particular in the medical domain, for improving the execution of a task. 
This Research Topic will present the recent advancements in visual 
feedback and tracking, haptic interaction, and interaction paradigm that 
are aimed at increasing usability and quality of interaction with the 
robotic system.

This special issue invites submissions describing efforts in robotics 
that take advantage of Augmented Reality solutions. Contributions are 
sought in (but not limited to) the following topics:

- AR for Telepresence and Telemanipulation
- Haptics and AR, the role of touch
- Software solutions for integrating robotics and AR
- Surgical Robotics and AR
- Registration and tracking for AR and Robotics
- Usability studes of HRI with AR
