Hello colleagues,

A reminder about the ASME Student Mechanism & Robot Design Competition. Please see the original posting below. Note that student course projects are often ideal entries.

We will accept one-page letters-of-intent until MONDAY, 4/4, at 11:59 PM EDT.
(The previously stated letter-of-intent due date was 4/1.)

Please post and share with your academic colleagues, especially those teaching capstone design courses and other mechanical/mechanism design courses. Also consider forwarding to your engineering student societies.

I look forward to great entries!
Cheers,
Brian Trease

DESCRIPTION
The ASME Student Mechanism & Robot Design Competition is an excellent opportunity for both undergraduate and graduate students to showcase their abilities in designing mechanisms and robots. All entries are welcome, though the judging is more focused on the mechanical & mechatronic aspects of design.

This competition consists of two rounds: in round one, student(s) submit a report on their design, and in round two, several teams are invited to the conference to present their design. Winners of the competition will be recognized during the Mechanisms & Robotics conference luncheon, and presented with awards that in the past have included both cash and software prizes.

Some travel funds are available for the finalists. The funds can cover the ASME IDETC registration, hotel stay, transportation (airfare), and meals (on a per diem basis).

The details on how to participate can be found at the contest website:
https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__sites.google.com_site_asmesmrdc&d=CwIFAg&c=clK7kQUTWtAVEOVIgvi0NU5BOUHhpN0H8p7CSfnc_gI&r=0w3solp5fswiyWF2RL6rSs8MCeFamFEPafDTOhgTfYI&m=UfZ5FJbgLWkRa3dFJ4ECsIJRMDGP7Yh-W5-yGxV4mhk&s=nB0sB4GPordbUK4DrbKT-eDioDgQVzWvV9iTj6_WSKU&e=

If you are a student, please apply! If you are an engineer or professor, please distribute! Share this email and the attached flyer with your colleagues working in the mechanisms and robotics area, and post it on department bulletin boards for further dissemination.
