Paladyn. Journal of Behavioral Robotics invites manuscripts for the Special Issue on Social Behavior in Robots. Social behaviour is the set of interaction patterns (verbal and non-verbal) that occur between two or more individuals, which also provokes a response or a change in behaviour on the opponent. Complex behaviours can be generated from the common simple interaction patterns and embedded onto robots turning them into sociable robots. The field of sociable robots is emerging and is going to impact our daily lives in the coming years. This topical issue aims at presenting an overview of the current state of the art of sociable robots, related technologies, future trends and impact on the society at large. The special issue invites original research papers from different research groups. The scope of the special issue includes but is not limited to:

  *   cognitive robotics
  *   developmental robotics
  *   affective robotics
  *   social cognition
  *   modeling social behavior
  *   social acceptance of robots
  *   human-robot interaction
  *   learning, adaptation and imitation
  *   modeling human behavior
  *   robot personality
  *   socially interactive robots
  *   application of social robots
