2017 IEEE World Haptics
June 6-9, 2017 | Fuerstenfeldbruck (Munich), Germany

Call for Participation

Haptic devices enable human-machine interaction through the senses of
force and touch. In recent years, the haptics research domain has grown
exponentially, involving researchers spanning widely from psychophysics,
via engineering, to design. IEEE World Haptics is the
premier international conference addressing all aspects related to
haptics, covering the basic scientific underpinnings, technological
developments, and algorithms and applications. It is a central venue for
reporting research results and demonstrating novel capabilities
in the field of haptics.

Various options exist for participating in and benefiting from the
conference including the submission of full-length technical papers,
late-breaking work-in-progress papers, and demonstrations of haptic
technology and systems; participation in workshops and tutorials;
and exhibition of commercial offerings. Vendors and corporations are
also encouraged to benefit from various sponsorship opportunities, as a
means of both supporting the community and maintaining visibility within it.

We seek original contributions on all topics in haptics and call for the
submission of regular technical papers (6 pages, double column).
Accepted papers will be published in the electronic proceedings and will
be submitted for publication in IEEE Xplore. Highly ranked papers will
be invited to submit an extended, journal-length version to the IEEE
Transactions on Haptics, in an expedited process.

In addition, submissions of Work-in-Progress Papers, Hands-On
Demonstrations, and Workshops and Tutorials are also sought, which will
be detailed in a separate call.

Important Dates

* Regular Paper Submission: January 15, 2017
* Paper Acceptance Notification: March 12, 2017
* Camera-Ready Paper Submission: April 2, 2017

The submission system will open in mid-November.

The World Haptics 2017 venue is a former Cistercian monastery complex
where a special atmosphere is created by the combination of historical
buildings and modern architecture. It is located within the range of
Munich city public transport.

Munich is the capital of the German state of Bavaria, on the banks of
River Isar north of the Bavarian Alps. It is a major centre of art,
advanced technologies, finance, publishing, culture, innovation,
education, business, and tourism in Germany and Europe.
