The role involves working with some of the world's leading experts in SLAM, localization, perception, detection, sensing, scene understanding and action recognition across the centre's nodes at 4 leading Australian universities (Queensland University of Technology (QUT), University of Adelaide, The Australian National University and Monash University). 

The role involves working under the direction of senior centre staff. Specific responsibilities include the development and running of centre-wide self-driving car research challenges and technical demonstrations, working with researchers to develop and integrate their research into autonomous vehicle platforms (both cars and smaller autonomous robots) and assisting with publication and dissemination of the research.

Applicants require a working familiarity with computer vision, deep learning, machine learning, autonomous robots / vehicles and sensing hardware, and a strong track record in leading collaborative team activity. The role is based at QUT in Brisbane, Australia but will require regular travel to the centre's other nodes in Melbourne, Adelaide and Canberra. This appointment will be offered on a fixed- term, full-time basis for 2 (two) years.
