The third annual Hamlyn Medical Microrobotics Video Competition will take place this year on the 28th of June. This competition aims to encourage researchers within the medical micro-robotics field to showcase their work in a well-presented video format.
All microrobotic platforms with potential applications in healthcare are suitable. The video should clearly and concisely describe the research, its motivation / target application, research challenges, innovations, any in vivo or ex vivo experiments etc. Videos should be no longer than 4 minutes, and will be judged based on the following criteria: 1) strength of the medical application, 2) future potential for real work deployment, 3) technical novelty of the robot / system and 4) quality of communication. Video submissions should be sent as a video attachment, Youtube video or downloadable link to m.power13 at imperial.ac.uk<mailto:m.power13 at imperial.ac.uk> by the 20th of June 2017. Full details of the competition, rules, judging criteria and selected previous entries can also be found at https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__sites.google.com_view_hamlynmedicalmicrorobotvidcomp_home&d=DwIF-g&c=clK7kQUTWtAVEOVIgvi0NU5BOUHhpN0H8p7CSfnc_gI&r=0w3solp5fswiyWF2RL6rSs8MCeFamFEPafDTOhgTfYI&m=-Aqi1vkEzivT-Fb1pFo0i5N1kqFNtAyoudzWylUZu_c&s=9gg4wsuaGInzCKCCyDTd_k898qa9qNWKo4Uz3lj0j0c&e= .
Video entries will be featured at the “Microrobotics and Microfabrication” workshop at the Hamlyn Symposium, where the winner of the competition will be chosen by the workshop attendees according the criteria outlined in the competition rules. The winning video will be featured on the competition website and the team will also receive an iPad mini. Attendance at the workshop is not required, although entrants are more than welcome to attend (see https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__hamlyn.doc.ic.ac.uk_hsmr_registration&d=DwIF-g&c=clK7kQUTWtAVEOVIgvi0NU5BOUHhpN0H8p7CSfnc_gI&r=0w3solp5fswiyWF2RL6rSs8MCeFamFEPafDTOhgTfYI&m=-Aqi1vkEzivT-Fb1pFo0i5N1kqFNtAyoudzWylUZu_c&s=R-ID6v52rTGD2UBw7peLS6GAYWPfKiKQZ5uYF3RSgrI&e= for registration details).
