Job Description and Responsibilities*
The Robotics & Materials Science department of Schlumberger-Doll Research
center is conducting applied research and evaluation of cutting-edge
technology for the advancement of automation in oilfield operations. We are
seeking a high-energy robotics research program manager to lead the
development of innovative and reliable automation solutions for our
operations in the complex unstructured field environment and
low-volume/high-mix manufacturing. The program manager will lead a
multidisciplinary team of motivated research scientists to deliver
integrated research prototypes ready for introduction in complex real-world
systems. The ideal candidate should have a strong grasp of the theory and
hands-on team-based implementation experience of artificial intelligence
concepts used in modern robotic manipulation. The successful candidate will
be expected to initiate and supervise the collaborations with academic
research institutions and Schlumberger industry partners. He/She will
actively participate in Schlumberger’s venture capital activity in the space
of robotics and artificial intelligence.   
   
*Qualifications*
•	PhD degree in robotics with research emphasis on intelligent manipulation 
•	Deep expertise in automated path and activity planning under uncertainty,
obstacle avoidance, dexterous manipulation and computer vision 
•	Familiarity with supervised learning and collaborative robots preferred
•	5+ Years of technical leadership in the design, control and operation of
mechatronic systems 
•	Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills 
•	Candidates must be able to legally work and reside in the US without
sponsorship
