On behalf of the HMISS organizing committee, we are pleased to invite to
participate to the 2nd Edition of the Human-Machine Interaction Summer
School (HMISS 2017 https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__www.hmiss.it_&d=DwIDaQ&c=clK7kQUTWtAVEOVIgvi0NU5BOUHhpN0H8p7CSfnc_gI&r=0w3solp5fswiyWF2RL6rSs8MCeFamFEPafDTOhgTfYI&m=VDDSGxZx6ATfjjUoBA6Kp-2rQ0IdRcVqDghtpBpSjOE&s=_r35eXnKbTu4-OAi1PTEqvwxXagPMF3OtIFgu9CTzq0&e= ). The Summer School is addressed
to Ph.D. students, post-docs and researchers involved in Human-Machine
and Human-Robot Interaction research and applications.

After the successful edition in 2015 (https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__2015.hmiss.it_&d=DwIDaQ&c=clK7kQUTWtAVEOVIgvi0NU5BOUHhpN0H8p7CSfnc_gI&r=0w3solp5fswiyWF2RL6rSs8MCeFamFEPafDTOhgTfYI&m=VDDSGxZx6ATfjjUoBA6Kp-2rQ0IdRcVqDghtpBpSjOE&s=xOrIkyGbY7PU33ww-bgHEo1gt1GgpBMQunh7pSLxDmE&e= ), the HMISS
2017 will take place at Grand Hotel Pianeta in Maratea
(Basilicata-Italy) on September, 18th - 23rd 2017. This year’s edition
of HMISS will aim to provide basic and advanced knowledge of cognitive,
motor and physical *Human Machine Interaction* in Robotics and Haptics.

In 2017, HMISS will have a partnership with *HEROES conference*, the
first Euro-mediterranen Co-innovation Festival involving business world
leaders, business angels, investors, intellectuals, creative people,
policy makers as well as the best euro-mediterranean startups. Both
events will be held in the beautiful city of Maratea in Basilicata
region (Italy) and HMISS attendees will benefit of free participation to
HEROES conference.
Furthermore, attendees of HMISS 2017 will be able to participate to a
scientific research competition, the *“HMISS – HMI Best Research Award
2017”*, a *2**,5k€ prize* (of which 1,5 k€ in business mentoring and
coaching) for the best research work conducted in HMI field which will
be assigned during a ceremony at the end of the summer school.

The courses and the workshops will be delivered by international
academic experts and will cover different aspects of HMI making the
summer school accessible to a wide range of Ph.D. students and
Researchers. Confirmed lecturers (https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__www.hmiss.it_lecturers_&d=DwIDaQ&c=clK7kQUTWtAVEOVIgvi0NU5BOUHhpN0H8p7CSfnc_gI&r=0w3solp5fswiyWF2RL6rSs8MCeFamFEPafDTOhgTfYI&m=VDDSGxZx6ATfjjUoBA6Kp-2rQ0IdRcVqDghtpBpSjOE&s=GuoDT_JM4JkvtrWN1woN23H3meBWV0Ol5k1C2JhB7FM&e= ) are:
