design-led technology start-up enterprise developing assistive and
companion robots. We are looking for a full-time programmer/developer to
join our team, initially to work on the MiRo biomimetic robot platform (
Applicants are expected to have a good honors degree in an Engineering
discipline, and you should have expert knowledge of programming (e.g. C,
C++, Python) together with familiarity with Linux operating systems.
Experience in one or more of robotics, computer vision, signal processing,
machine learning, computational neuroscience, or electronics, is desirable.
Postgraduate qualifications (MSc, PhD) in areas related to robotics would
be an advantage. The role will involve developing navigation, perception,
and social cognition capabilities for the MiRo robot, additionally you will
be expected to contribute to general system maintenances, development and
support. Annual salary will be in the range 25-31,000 GBP depending on
experience. Applicants should already have the right to work in the UK/EU.
It is expected that the initial contract will be for a six-month period.
The successful applicant will join a small team based in the Bristol
Robotics Technology Incubator in Filton, Bristol, though it may also be
possible to work from either Sheffield or London, UK.
