Open Position in Robot Perception at Bosch Corporate Research, Stuttgart Area
Bosch has 100+ robotics researchers worldwide working on exciting problems for consumer robots, collaborative production assistants, transportation platforms, self-driving cars, exoskeletons, or subsea robots. In a new large-scale long-term research programme, Bosch is currently intensifying its robotics research efforts and is seeking for a 

* PhD or postdoctoral researcher in the area of robot perception *

Your tasks will include:
* Development of new algorithms, methods and software for robots with a focus on multi-modal perception of people and other dynamic objects
* Collaboration in an international team in the H2020 ILIAD project (see iliad-project.eu)
* Setting up a graphical simulation environment for automated regression testing

You will be working in a large highly qualified team together with experts in robotics, machine learning, artificial intelligence, computer vision, mechatronics, control, and HMI. Possibilities to stay connected to the academic world by supervising students, publication activities, participation in publicly funded projects.

You are expected to have: 
* PhD or soon-to-be-finished PhD in a related technical subject
* Profound knowledge in machine learning, computer vision, person/object tracking, possibly also with 2D/3D and RGB-D sensors
* Publications on top conferences and journals in robotics and/or computer vision such as ICRA, IROS, RSS, CVPR, ICCV, IJRR, RA-L, TRO, AURO, FUSION or alike 
* Several years of programming experience in C/C++, preferably also Python
* Experience with ROS, Gazebo, OpenCV, PCL, OGRE
* Ability to autonomously and systematically approach new problems in a goal-oriented fashion
* Good knowledge of written and spoken English
