Each of these research-focused positions will lead a new Cyber Valley Research Group located either at the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems, at the University of Stuttgart, or at the University of Tübingen as part of the Cyber Valley initiative Baden-Württemberg. The establishment of a competitive basic research program is expected. The research groups are expected to engage actively with the existing research environment, including the Cyber Valley partners. The research groups will be able to draw on infrastructure and a stimulating environment for successful company startups in the area of artificial intelligence.

All applications will be considered for two different types of positions that offer scientists an excellent opportunity for career advancement. During the selection process, depending on the career stage of the applicant, the most suitable position will be identified in agreement with the successful candidates.

Cyber Valley Research Group Leaders at the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems:
The group leader positions are at W2 level (roughly equivalent to assistant/associate professor level). The successful applicants are provided considerable funds for personnel, equipment and running costs that enable the group leaders to flexibly engage in their independent research agenda. The Max Planck Research Groups are limited to five years, but may be extended.

Cyber Valley Research Group Leaders at the University of Stuttgart and at the University of Tübingen:
The funding includes a group leader position (TV-L E14), PhD positions as well as startup and running budgets for up to four years. The groups will be embedded into the appropriate faculty at the University of Stuttgart or the Department of Computer Science in the Faculty of Science of the University of Tübingen, respectively, and benefit from the support structures.

The Max Planck Society, the University of Stuttgart, and the University of Tübingen are equal opportunity employers and strive for gender diversity. We welcome applications from all backgrounds.

We are committed to increasing the number of individuals with disabilities in our workforce and therefore encourage applications from such qualified individuals.

Applications should contain a description of past and future research activities (up to three pages), a CV and publication list, and three reference letters submitted directly by the referees. Inquiries should be sent to applications at cyber-valley.de. Applications should be submitted in English as a single pdf-file through the online application system at https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__cyber-2Dvalley.de&d=DwIFaQ&c=clK7kQUTWtAVEOVIgvi0NU5BOUHhpN0H8p7CSfnc_gI&r=0w3solp5fswiyWF2RL6rSs8MCeFamFEPafDTOhgTfYI&m=P7gCcmZ1zRRRAREKtCcYDz5qIB2syfGU00Man8U84Cs&s=d7eLmNLcR4ZJrqJNber_mM-buSQ0dVx6ir1r7Mers0I&e= .
