A 3 year PhD studentship is available in robot manipulation. The student 
will work as part of a large project on dexterous assembly for 
manufacturing operations. The topic is the performance of complex 
assemblies using variable impedance control and learning from 
demonstration. The successful applicant should have exceptional coding 
and mathematical skills, a BSc and MSc in relevant subjects, strong 
interpersonal skills, and a passion for robot manipulation and machine 
learning. You must be able to start no later than February 28 2018.

The living stipend will be £14.5k per annum, and in addition the 
scholarship will cover all fees.

The student will join the work of the Intelligent Robotics Laboratory at 
the University of Birmingham.
