The research topic may involve engaging with current projects in our lab, in areas such as wearable haptics or soft electronics, or opening new directions in haptics and robotics.
The position is based in the California NanoSystems Institute at UCSB. Our lab is affiliated with the Departments of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and the Media Arts and Technology Graduate Program at UCSB.
The successful candidate will, prior to the start date, possess a PhD in a mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, applied physics, or a related field. A solid record of publication is expected, commensurate with the applicant’s level of experience.
Experience in one or more of the following would be beneficial: haptics, mechatronics design, robotics hardware/systems, MEMS design, applied materials, or acoustics. Above all, we are looking for someone who is intellectually curious, hands-on, and highly motivated.
