The Humans and Autonomy Laboratory (HAL) at Duke University is currently looking to hire a Post-Doctoral associate. The projects will involve the development and implementation of passive unmanned aerial vehicle (aka drone) detection and mitigation devices. This project will pay for the acquisition of a Part 107 certification for the FAA. Additional work will include supervising drone flights in a motion capture room and running human-in-the-loop experiments. 

Opportunities also exist to collaborate with other ongoing activities at HAL, including the development of models of trust for human interaction with unmanned vehicles or autonomous systems, including medical systems. Additional collaborations the area of explainable artificial intelligence will also be available.
Applications for these positions are sought from highly motivated researchers with a PhD in Engineering/Computer Science with strong analytical and programming skills. Candidates with the following skills and experience will be considered favorably:
•	Proficiency with C/C++ or Java programing
•	Understanding of Design of Experiments
•	Strong writing skills
