Title: Special Session on Socially Assistive Robotics at the IEEE World Symposium on Digital
Intelligence for Systems and Machines
Location: Kosice, Slovakia
Date: August 23-25, 2018
We are pleased to invite you to participate in our special session on Socially Assistive Robotics at the IEEE DISA 2018 in Kosice, Slovakia.
Submission deadline: April 22nd, 2018
GOALS OF THE SPECIAL SESSION
The goal of the Socially Assistive Robotics special session is to bring together researchers working in the fields of robotics and artificial intelligence and applying their results in real-world environments. This meeting is oriented towards sharing the ideas of the participants with different backgrounds ranging from robotics and machine learning to psychology. The aim of the special session is to identify new concepts and challenges in designing socially assistive robots that can increase the quality of life of humans.
LIST OF TOPICS
The topics of interest include, but are not limited to the following:
- - Affective computing for socially interactive robots
- - Ambient Assisted Living
- - Artificial intelligence for social robots
- - Autonomy in social robotics
- - Control architectures for social robotics
- - Interaction and collaboration among robots, humans and environment
- - Long-term human-robot interaction
- - Personal robots for the home
- - Psychological aspects of applying social robots in real-world environments
- - Robot applications in education and rehabilitation
- - Robot learning
- - Robots that can adapt to different users
- - Socially assistive robots to improve quality of life
April 22nd, 2018: Deadline for submission of papers
May 20th, 2018: Notification of acceptance
June 20th, 2018: Camera ready papers
