*Project description*
We have an open PhD position to study procedural, stochastic, and fabricable
microstructures, with a controlled macroscopic physical behavior. These have
important applications in soft robotics, healthcare, and the mechanical
engineering fields, for instance for the design of deformable, lightweight
and porous parts.

We are looking for a PhD candidate with, ideally, background in the field of
3D printing, 3D modeling, computer graphics and numerical simulation. The
candidate should be proficient with C++, have a competent background in
physics and finite element methods. Some experience with 3D printing and
computer graphics would be appreciated.

* Starting date: 1st September 2018 (or before, if a suitable candidate is
found).
