Dear Colleagues,

The journal Sensors (ISSN 1424-8220) is currently running a
Special Issue entitled "Tactile Sensors and Applications". Prof.
Pedro Silva Girão(Instituto de Telecomunicações DEEC/IST), Assoc. Prof.
Pedro Ramos(Instituto de Telecomunicações DEEC/IST), Dr. Perla Maiolino
(University of Cambridge) and Assoc. Prof. Giorgio Cannata (University
of Genova) are serving as Guest Editors for this issue.

Touch is one of the main senses that humans use. The contact of external
objects or forces with the body, especially the hands, is one of the
main ways for humans to interact with the environment and explore their
surroundings. Different types of touch receptors are located in
different layers of the skin. They are responsible for conveying to the
brain, not only tactile, but also haptic and temperature information[...]

The submission deadline is 10 December 2018. You may send your
manuscript now or up until the deadline. Submitted papers should not be
under consideration for publication elsewhere. We also encourage authors
to send a short abstract or tentative title to the Editorial Office in
advance to fancy.chai at mdpi.com or sensors at mdpi.com.

Sensors is covered by leading indexing services, including the Science
Citation Index Expanded (Web of Science), PubMed/MEDLINE, Scopus,
Chemical Abstracts, INSPEC, and CAB Abstracts. The latest Impact Factor
for the year 2017 is 2.475, and the 5-year Impact Factor: 3.014

Sensors is fully open access. Open access (unlimited and free access by
readers) increases publicity and promotes more frequent citations, as
indicated by several studies. Open access is supported by the authors
and their institutes. Article Processing Charges of CHF 1800 (APC) apply
