Dear Colleagues,

We invite submissions to a "Focused Section on Smart Mobile Robotic Systems 
in Challenging Environments" for International Journal of Intelligent 
Robotics and Applications (Springer Publisher).

International Journal of Intelligent Robotics and Applications (Indexed by 
ESCI) calls for this special issue aiming to solicit the state-of-the-art 
and novel results addressing fundamental challenges and practical issues in 
all aspects of robots in the air, in the water and on the ground. Papers 
relating to design, methodology, analysis and deployment of smart mobile 
robotic systems across air, water and land environments are invited, to 
reveal key features of embedded sensing, perception, actuation, control and 
synthesis with high intelligence and autonomy.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
•      Intelligent aerial, maritime (surface, underwater) and ground 
(wheeled, climbing, rolling) robotic systems
•      Coordination and cooperation of heterogenous mobile robots across 
multiple environments
•      Mobile robots equipped with flexible manipulators
•      Dynamics, actuation, sensing, and control of mobile robotics in 
challenging environments
•      Localization, navigation and autonomy of a team of mobile robots

Manuscript preparation
Papers must contain original contributions and be prepared in accordance
