Robotics Through Science Fiction: Artificial Intelligence Explained Through Six Classic Robot Short Stories (MIT Press) is now available for a Dec. 11 delivery from the MIT Press (https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__mitpress.mit.edu_books_robotics-2Dthrough-2Dscience-2Dfiction&d=DwIFaQ&c=clK7kQUTWtAVEOVIgvi0NU5BOUHhpN0H8p7CSfnc_gI&r=0w3solp5fswiyWF2RL6rSs8MCeFamFEPafDTOhgTfYI&m=KbAGWbGro9G11EhsE8F0JH3ty7hdk40wx683CoxS2Vk&s=Vs5JvutQFRZrSrnL_UQUEEJMLHkqtfok4jvuVPR4Tds&e= <https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__mitpress.mit.edu_books_robotics-2Dthrough-2Dscience-2Dfiction&d=DwIFaQ&c=clK7kQUTWtAVEOVIgvi0NU5BOUHhpN0H8p7CSfnc_gI&r=0w3solp5fswiyWF2RL6rSs8MCeFamFEPafDTOhgTfYI&m=KbAGWbGro9G11EhsE8F0JH3ty7hdk40wx683CoxS2Vk&s=Vs5JvutQFRZrSrnL_UQUEEJMLHkqtfok4jvuVPR4Tds&e=>) or Amazon (https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__www.amazon.com_dp_0262536269_ref-3Dcm-5Fsw-5Fr-5Ftw-5Fdp-5FU-5Fx-5FCJx8Bb3945PVY&d=DwIFaQ&c=clK7kQUTWtAVEOVIgvi0NU5BOUHhpN0H8p7CSfnc_gI&r=0w3solp5fswiyWF2RL6rSs8MCeFamFEPafDTOhgTfYI&m=KbAGWbGro9G11EhsE8F0JH3ty7hdk40wx683CoxS2Vk&s=xt3OosKT62XZ7XsbOOUQoLPSg_tT97Jkqe40M_oiiQo&e= <https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__www.amazon.com_dp_0262536269_ref-3Dcm-5Fsw-5Fr-5Ftw-5Fdp-5FU-5Fx-5FCJx8Bb3945PVY&d=DwIFaQ&c=clK7kQUTWtAVEOVIgvi0NU5BOUHhpN0H8p7CSfnc_gI&r=0w3solp5fswiyWF2RL6rSs8MCeFamFEPafDTOhgTfYI&m=KbAGWbGro9G11EhsE8F0JH3ty7hdk40wx683CoxS2Vk&s=xt3OosKT62XZ7XsbOOUQoLPSg_tT97Jkqe40M_oiiQo&e=>).

It is both an anthology for leisure reading and a supplemental textbook for introductory classes in robotics. Each story serves as a case study to explore how real robots work, which is discussed in the commentary following each story. The topics covered are: telepresence, behavior-based robotics, deliberation, testing, human-robot interaction, the “uncanny valley,” natural language understanding, machine learning, and ethics and an anthology of stories. The book is also a companion to the forthcoming second edition of “Introduction to AI Robotics.”

I hope you will enjoy it!
